I am an experienced attorney practicing in Lapeer and Genesee Counties. I have been a member of the State Bar of Michigan since 1998. I graduated from Michigan State University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. I graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School with a Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, in 1997. I am a member of the Lapeer County Bar Association, the Lapeer Downtown Business Association, and the Lapeer Chamber of Commerce. I also teach Criminal Justice and Political Science classes at Baker College of Flint. I have served on the Board of Directors and as the President of the Junior League of Flint, on the Board of Directors for the Flint Child Welfare Society, and on my church board. I also have a black belt in Tang Soo Do and teach cardio kickboxing classes in Davison, Michigan.
Over the years, I have worked prosecuting misdemeanors for the City of Flint, as a law clerk in the Genesee County Circuit Court, for an insurance defense firm, and for a law firm that provided a wide range of legal services.
I have over twelve years of experience in estate planning, including trusts, wills, deeds, and powers of attorney.
I also have years of experience in handling Probate Court matters such as probate and trust administrations, guardianships and conservatorships, and adoptions. I have years of experience in civil litigation. Here is a list of some of the areas where I have litigation experience: Insurance disputes, consumer complaints, landlord/tenant matters, breach of contract, collection work, and property disputes.
I want to be your “go to” attorney. As such, my goal is to provide you with outstanding, but affordable, legal work. I take the time to meet with my clients and develop a mutual dialog based on respect for one another. I make every effort to clearly understand and solve my clients’ legal needs.
